Donana is an enormous and important national park rich in bird and wild life.
The park marshlands border the mouth of the river Guadalquivir and the Atlantic Ocean.
Its lakes, dunes, shores and wooded areas provide homes for over 250 species of birds (including refuge for those migrating) as well as mammals such as the lynx, wild boar, wildcat, fox and deer.
Late spring and winter are the best time to visit as far as the wildlife is concerned and organised tours around the park are available.
