Cordoba's great Mosque, the Mezquita dates back 12 centuries and this example of Arab architecture is definitely a sight not to be missed.
The city is noted for its colourful flower filled patios, la Juderia (the old Jewish quarter) where you can wander the narrow lanes and alleyways, and the Puente Romano (the Roman bridge) which crosses the river Guadalquivir to enter the city.
Probably the most interesting area to concentrate on would be that just north of the river which includes the Mezquita, the Arab walls, the Alcazar, the Jewish quarter, synagogue and several museums.
